Into the Shadows with Pip Wylde. A Samhain practice for coaches, creatives and solo entrepreneurs: when business feels heavy and love and light won't fix it.
A self-guided Samhain practice For the season of letting things fall... so we can call in the new.

Samhain is the threshold. The veil is thin, the earth is pulling everything inward, and it's the perfect moment to look at what's really been steering us.

I've held Into the Shadows live before. This year I'm resting (yes, really!) so I'm handing it over to you to do in your own time, in your own space.

No love and light bypassing here. Just honest work, a little ritual, and a manifesto for how you'll do business from now on.

Give yourself a quiet hour. That's all.

I made this playlist to hold you through the whole practice. Pop it on, dim the lights, and let it carry you in...

One

Arrive

Feet on the floor. Hand on your heart.

Take a few slow breaths and let your body catch up with you. No rushing. We've done enough rushing this year...

Stay here until you feel yourself land.

Two

Meet your shadows

Light your candle. Then pick up your pen and journal on these:

  • Where does my business feel heavy right now?
  • What do I believe I'm allowed to want?
  • What am I scared people will think of me if I really go for it?

Write fast. Don't tidy it up.

The messy stuff is the good stuff (hello inner child, trying to keep us safe).

Three

Release

On a fresh piece of paper, write one pattern you're ready to let go of.

Hold it. Thank it for trying to keep you safe. It did its best with what it knew.

Then let it go. Tear it up, burn it safely, or bury it in the earth and let Samhain take it.

Burning safely

Ritual is powerful. So is fire (let's keep the magic and lose the singed eyebrows!)

  • Never leave a lit candle unattended, and keep it well away from curtains, paper, plants and anything that catches easily.
  • Burn your paper outside if you can, or over a sink, inside a heatproof ceramic or metal bowl. Never a glass one, it can crack.
  • Keep it small. Fold or tear the paper into a little piece so the flame stays manageable.
  • Have a glass of water or damp cloth close by before you light anything.
  • Tie long hair back and push loose sleeves up.
  • Open a window for fresh air, and keep children and pets out of the space.
  • Make sure every ember is fully out and the ash is cold before you bury it or throw it away.

Not feeling the fire tonight? Tearing it up or burying it in the soil is every bit as powerful.

Four

Write your manifesto

This is how you'll do business from now on. Not what sounds good. Not what you think you should say. What's actually true for you.

  • My boundaries. What I will no longer do to get clients.
  • My pricing truth. What "enough" really means to me.
  • How I'll show up when I'm triggered, ghosted or comparing.
  • The one thing I'm doing differently in 2027.

Write it. Own it. This is your anchor when things get wobbly.

Five

Seal it in your body

Read one line of your manifesto out loud.

Ask yourself: if this were true right now, how would I sit? How would I breathe? What would my shoulders do?

Let your body shift into that shape. Hand on your heart. Feel your feet rooted into the ground.

Then say it.

So it is.

Rest in the dark

Blow out your candle and let it all settle, like a seed in winter soil.

Keep your manifesto somewhere you'll see it. When the old patterns come knocking (and they will!) come back to it. Now you know what to do.

I'd love to hear one line from your manifesto. Send it my way.
